ABOUT DEPARTMENT<\/h2>\n

The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1998 with a vision of providing excellence in the fields of Commerce and management by imparting quality and value based education in this rural and \u2018Kandi Area\u2019 of Punjab.\u00a0Over the years, this department has carved an enviable niche in the field of Commerce and management education and got Master of Commerce (M.Com) in 2012. The department is proud to be the Alma Mater of many Chartered Accountants.\u00a0Since its inception, the primary aim of the department has been to make the commerce students respond to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge.<\/p>\n

Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji has always insisted on the virtue of “KIRAT”. Kirat karo (do labour) is part of the threefold holy junction of Sikhism in addition to Vand Chhako and Naam Japo. These are a lesson in practical spirituality and help us integrate self and society through honest and persevered labour. Our Commerce Department has persevered through hard times and brought laurels. Our Bachelor’s and Master’s programs are amongst the best in the region right now, and the credit for this goes to\u00a0our hardworking staff, professors and custodians, alike. I fully trust my department and students . I’ m confident that together we will uplift our department and college in line with the vision and mission of the Department of Commerce and Economics.
